Protecting Wildlife for the future - KTT offer a helping hand

On the 27th September staff from Kent Top Temps took part in a Challenge Day at Brenchley Wood, near Paddock Wood.

Designated as a Site of relic High Weald woodland, the woods are mostly beech and oak and have a varied understorey with over 25 species of bryophytes alone.

Tasks involved the clear away of invasive species to create ecological corridors, which will enable plants such as heathers to colonise in different areas of the woodland.

The team were kept fuelled with lunch and beverages, over the fire before making their way back to the office to ensure all the next days' placements were filled.

The day provided a rewarding break for staff, offering them a chance to socialise away from the office, learn new skills and demonstrated the agency's commitment to the Garden of England. It proved such a success that the team are already considering future events for the Trust as well as other team building avenues.

Helen Lock, General Manager adds, "the environment is important to us all and by supporting Kent Wildlife Trust businesses can prove they care in a way that brings commercial success. Employee satisfaction was high and it was good to see so many enjoying a hands on experience".
